We do not currently offer Endoscopic Weight Loss Procedures (eg. Gastric Balloon, Endoscopic Gastric Plication, Endoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy – ESG) at BodyFree. You can find some general information about these procedures below.

A number of bariatric procedures have some utility in achieving short term weight loss. These include:

  • Intragastric Balloon (Orbera)
  • Endoscopic Gastric Plication (Endoscopic Sleeve)
  • Elipse Balloon

These endoscopic weight loss procedures have not shown any medium to long term weight loss maintenance and in the opinion of the BodyFree Team are best utilised for short term weight loss that may be essential for a different surgical procedure such as cancer operation.

The Elipse Balloon procedure has been gaining a lot of attention recently. Research shows that patients can lose up to 10-15% of their total body weight using this procedure. While the appeal of this weight loss option is understood, it is the belief of our expert team that this, like other balloon procedures, will likely result in non sustainable weight loss (or weight regain).
