At BodyFree, gastric sleeve or gastric bypass surgery may start from $4,990 for insured patients, with self-funded packages available for patients without private health insurance from $14,490. You may also be eligible to use your Superannuation to fund your weight loss surgery.

Costs include surgeon fees, hospital fees, anaesthesia and post-operative care. Costs will be discussed with you at the time of booking your appointment. Following your consultation, our team will provide a detailed quote.

For patients who do not have immediate access to funds or who prefer an alternative option, medical finance may be considered.

Do you hold Private Health Insurance?

For patients who hold Private Health Insurance that covers them for Bariatric Surgery (gastric sleeve or gastric bypass), and who have not had a previous Bariatric procedure, BodyFree can provide all of your pre and post-operative care, surgery, and ongoing follow-up for a fixed pricing starting at $4,990.

(Note: you may also be required to pay a hospital excess as directed by your Private Health Fund – this fee is not included in our Weight Loss Surgery pricing or program fee.)

We offer fixed Weight Loss Surgery pricing starting at $14,490 for Gastric Sleeve surgery on our basic program with limited post operative follow up, or we offer an all-inclusive program (with the same inclusions that we provide for our insured patients) for $15,490 for Gastric Sleeve or Gastric Bypass.

In certain circumstances, patients may be able to access their superannuation funds to help cover the cost of weight loss surgery on compassionate grounds.

This involves submitting an application through the ATO via your MyGov account.

As part of the application, you will need supporting medical documentation from both your GP and your treating specialist, Dr David Joseph.

Our team will provide the required documentation along with clear, step-by-step instructions to guide you through the process.

Once submitted, the application process can take several weeks before funds are released.
